I would be tempted to remove the copy and hue the guns with a red. The red cross is a clearly recognized global establishment so the message will be easy to interpret I believe.
Thanks for the comments. I agree that the image is more striking without the text, but then I might be giving people the impession that the Red Cross are smuggling weapons. Even though I can't prove they aren't, it's not an allegation I'm confident enough to stand by. Any possible solutions would be appreciated.

I agree, I think making the cross red would make this , a shorter, punchier tagline, perhaps just one sentence long underneath it is all thats needed.

These comments seem familiar.
If the cross is too 'loaded' how about other iconography for peace - dove, laurel leaf etc.?
would agree with most comments re. trying it in red and/or possibly adding something in the background - i.e. spilt blood.
The current line could then be either discarded or possibly simplified to something along the lines of:
Is Aid all we give?
