My basic idea is to display war through "modern youth."
Vanity is a major part of youth, so my first ideas were to take that vanity away.
After researching war, most of the images i came across were of horrific scars and dead people.
So i thought i would cover a person with vanity in scars. (i no its a bit sick)
But it still was a good idea to me, so i attempted to paint realistic scars on top of the image i have chosen in Photoshop.
After i accomplished that i felt that it needed something else, so i started to manipulate the image further with red and grey tones.
I added war at the bottom of the poster by overlapping two fonts to produce the effect i wanted, then i added a black hawk and some broken glass just to give it some character.
(because of the image size you cant really see the scars.)
let me no what you think of it anyways? :D

i love your idea. the main image is very strong. But for me looking at the image i would not know it was about war until reading the type on the page. I would suggest making it allot more gruesome i.e putting alot more scares on the woman. but other that that i love the idea and the choice of colour and different tones was very well thought out.
I really like the image, it's very slick and strong. I agree though that maybe a stronger link needs to be made with the image of the woman and the idea.
A strong visual but the message is too obscure without your explanation. Also you'd eventually need a copyright free photograph
